Détails du produit
- This third edition of Ray Higgins' popular introduction to engineering materials has been thoroughly revised and updated throughout. The chapters dealing with non-metallic materials have been completely rewritten to take into account the significant advances that have been made in the field of ceramics and composite materials since the last edition and the increased industrial use of polymers. The sections devoted to metals and alloys have also been comprehensively updated and the examination of materials and process selection has been expanded, reflecting changes in course syllabuses.Retaining the author's informal and entertaining style the book continues to cover properties of materials syllabuses in a single volume and provides an invaluable introduction to materials courses for engineering technicians and undergraduates. Materials scientists, practising engineers and all with an interest in materials will also find it a comprehensive reference text.Revised and updated editionNon-metallic materials chapters addedSections devoted to metals and alloys updated
