Before using the TG Shield, the reviewer had used liquid electrical tape to coat the contacts and caps of Intel processors, which was found to be both cheaper and stronger. Another customer found that the compound mixed with their heat sink, making the purpose of the compound unclear. Ultimately, Considering the cost and the flaking issue, it seems there are better alternatives to the Thermal Grizzly TG-Shield.
